Meet Tiana Montella
Tiana Montella MS, RD, LD, CD, CLS
Tiana Montella, MS, RD, LD, CD, CLS is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Labor Doula. She earned her bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and completed her master’s degree and dietetic internship at Kent State University. Tiana has extensive experience as an inpatient dietitian, specializing in nutrition support within Intensive Care and Progressive Care Units. She now serves as a supervisor for maternal and child nutrition and health clinics.
Tiana’s passion for birth work and doula services began with a calling to help address the alarming rates of Black maternal mortality—a mission that became deeply personal after she experienced medical and racial bias firsthand. In response, she founded Labor and Nutrition Dietitian to empower women of color through advocacy, support, and education—aiming to improve birth outcomes and provide culturally responsive nutrition guidance for both mothers and babies. To further support her clients, Tiana became a Certified Lactation Specialist, helping families navigate their breastfeeding journey with confidence and care.
Tiana currently serves as President of the Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is a graduate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Leadership Institute and has held board positions with the Columbus Dietetic Association. Her dedication to clinical excellence and leadership has been recognized through several awards, including the 2020 Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year by OAND and the 2021 Clinical Excellence Award from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Tiana proudly serves the Columbus area and surrounding communities for doula services. She is able to take insurance and see clients in AZ, CA, CO, NJ, NC, OH, and VA for nutrition counseling.
